I don't know if everyone already knows this, but the other day my brother( a tech at nissan dealership) had a GTR comes in cause some guy bought one. The head tech was only allow to check the car before it was to be given to the customer. The hood was open and my brother walked by to sneak a peek. He saw the bov and it look just like a mitsu 1g bov. We had just gotten one from the junk yard the day before. He walk over for a closer look and sure enough it was. A 1g bov on the GTR. It was painted black but it still had the mitsub sign. He call me and say if it good enough for a GTR it must be an a great upgrade for me. :) just wanted to share this. so I told my cousin that I will sell my stock GTR bov to him for 200 dollars. ROFL

That was established a long time ago... Skylines have LONG used mitsu bov's.

GTR isn't a Skyline FYI. G35/37 are the new Skylines. GTR is just a GTR. Since the G35/37 are Infiniti here they didn't carry over the skyline name. It should be a Skyline it's in the family, it even got the R35.

not sure how long it has been used, but its been in them for quite a while.

ive thought about putting a few 1g bovs on ebay and listing them as "Oem Skyline GTR blowoff valve" and seeing how much i get for em!

i found this, from an r34- they come with dual 1g bovs!

"The Nissan GT-R supercar, formerly known as Skyline, is the 2009 Motor Trend Car of the Year. Official Nissan web site."

Taken directly from the Nissan website... Don't be a tool and be wrong. It's an R35 for that reason.

And like I said, the 1G bov's have been used on the R33/34/35's for a long time... Your post had nothing to do with the subject at hand.

So there is two different 2010 skylines? "Formerly known" also means past tense. If it was present it would say also known as.

If I am wrong, I will be the first to admit it as soon as I see proof. I've went to the local Nissan dealership and the car isn't badged Skyline anywhere on it from what I saw.

If it is a Skyline, I find it very odd that there is two cars from the same company with the same name that are completely different. Thanks for being a dick about it though I really appreciate it.

Nissan split the Skyline name. In japan the Infiniti G35 and G37 are know as the Nissan Skyline and the GT-R is also known as the Skyline. They did this so that they could have a luxury line of the skyline and the High Performance line. Formerly known as dosnt really count here as they split the skyline name. Just my .02:Db

There's always been a base model Skyline along with a GT-R version since the R32 series. The G35 is actually known as a V35 (aka 350GT) and G37 (also somewhere around 06-07 models are V36's of the G35) is a V36 (aka 370GT). The GT-R is an R35, following the previous R34.

So if anyone's looking for a 1g bov cover, Nissan has them... I believe they still sell them separate.

So does that mean if some rich guy needed his bov replaced for his brand new Nissan GTR he could grab one at the junkyard? :)

BTW shouldn't this be in the Hangout section?

Awesome, thank you I was wrong and they split it. To me it seems odd it would be like having the 3000gt and Eclipse both named Eclipse which would confuse people when you talk about the Mitsubishi eclipse as they would have two completely different cars in their head. I would have never thought a company would name two cars the same rather than just have a different trim.

I know there has been a base model a GTR and also a GTS-T (RWD). All of the pictures I've seen of G35 in japan say skyline on them, also the JDM parts for the G35 are all Skyline parts. I thought that the GTR has lost the Skyline name and was just considered a GTR but contained the R35 because it is a member of the Skyline family.

Wow this is old news. My local Mitsubishi btw is connected to my local Nissan in the same building the 350GT was considered a skyline but then revoked since it wasn't awd turbo.....

do you believe everything you read on the internet?

That's why I asked..hints the question marks.

I still believe you are wrong I can find 10 different links talking about the G37/Skyline but can't find one saying that it was revoked because it wasn't "awd turbo" and fyi there was some RWD Skylines in the past, so it doesn't make much sense to me that now they HAVE to be awd turbo.

I'd love to see something confirming what you are saying. I mean your attitude shows that you know best.

The G37 was not revoked... There has been multiple rwd naturally aspirated skylines. Like stated previous the G37 is a V36 Skyline (aka 370GT), it's not an R series.

Thank you, I feel like I'm being attacked here. I seen where I was wrong and admitted to it as soon as someone told me the correct info but yet people still find the need to argue and it doesn't even make sense. So basically the R35 GTR is a Skyline but is the performance platform (R32,33,34,35) where as the G35/G37 is the luxury line? Do I have this correct or am I still misunderstanding?

I used to be a Nissan Tech, The r35 Gt-r is not called a skyline, an the g35 is called the skyline in japan. It sucks cus only the shop foreman can get trained to work on the Gt-r. I have been in about 5 different Gt-r's tho. Take off = instant orgasm.
